1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

TF2Cheap is designed to work without user accounts or passwords. We do not require you to register or provide any personal information to use our core features. The information we may process includes:

• ◆Search queries — item names you search for in order to fetch and compare prices.
• ◆Steam profile URLs — when you use the Inventory or Backpack Lookup features, we process the Steam profile URL or Steam ID you provide solely to retrieve publicly available inventory data from Steam's API.
• ◆Basic analytics data — anonymised usage data such as pages visited, referral source, browser type, and approximate location (country level), collected through Google Analytics.

2. WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

• ◆We do not collect, store, or have access to your Steam password or any login credentials.
• ◆We do not store your inventory data on our servers — it is fetched in real time and discarded after your session.
• ◆We do not collect payment information of any kind.
• ◆We do not build user profiles or track individual users across sessions.

3. COOKIES & ANALYTICS

TF2Cheap uses Google Analytics (measurement ID: G-5ZNKGG4756) to understand general usage patterns and improve the site. Google Analytics may set cookies on your browser to distinguish unique visitors and throttle request rates. These cookies do not contain personal information. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by disabling cookies in your browser settings.

• ◆We also use localStorage in your browser to save your theme preference and recent search history. This data never leaves your device.

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

To provide price comparison data, TF2Cheap communicates with the following third-party services on your behalf:

• ◆backpack.tf — for community-driven TF2 item pricing data.
• ◆STN Trading (stntrading.eu) — for buy and sell pricing data.
• ◆Steam Market (via Steam Web API) — for Steam Community Market pricing and inventory lookups.
• ◆Google Analytics — for anonymised site usage analytics.
• ◆Vercel — for hosting and deployment infrastructure.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them independently. We only send the minimum data necessary (e.g. item names, Steam IDs) to fulfil your requests.

5. DATA RETENTION

TF2Cheap does not maintain a database of user data. Price queries are processed in real time and cached temporarily in server memory (up to 10 minutes) purely for performance. No personal data is persisted on our servers. Analytics data is retained by Google in accordance with Google's data retention policies.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

TF2Cheap is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
